Today’s scripture reading:

This doxology is a prayer of praise to God for the wisdom of his plan. Although God’s method and means are beyond our comprehension, God himself is not arbitrary. He governs the universe and our life in perfect wisdom, justice, and love.

The implication of these questions is that no one has fully understood the mind of the Lord. No one has been his counselor.   And God owes nothing to any one of us. God alone is the possessor of absolute power and absolute wisdom.

In the final analysis, all of us are absolutely dependent on God. He is the source of all things, including ourselves. He is the power that sustains and rules the world that we live in. And God works out all things to bring glory to himself. The all-powerful God deserves our praise. (NLT)

Romans 11:25-36 – I want you to understand this mystery, dear brothers and sisters, so that you will not feel proud and start bragging. Some of the Jews have hard hearts, but this will last only until the complete number of Gentiles comes to Christ. And so all Israel will be saved. Do you remember what the prophets said about this? “A Deliverer will come from Jerusalem, and he will turn Israel from all ungodliness. And then I will keep my covenant with them and take away their sins.”

Many of the Jews are now enemies of the Good News. But this has been to your benefit, for God has given his gifts to you Gentiles. Yet the Jews are still his chosen people because of his promises to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. For God’s gifts and his call can never be withdrawn. Once, you Gentiles were rebels against God, but when the Jews refused his mercy, God was merciful to you instead. And now, in the same way, the Jews are the rebels, and God’s mercy has come to you. But someday they, too, will share in God’s mercy. For God has imprisoned all people in their own disobedience so he could have mercy on everyone.

Oh, what a wonderful God we have! How great are his riches and wisdom and knowledge! How impossible it is for us to understand his decisions and his methods! For who can know what the Lord is thinking? Who knows enough to be his counselor? And who could ever give him so much that he would have to pay it back? For everything comes from him; everything exists by his power and is intended for his glory. To him be glory evermore. Amen.

According to God’s choice, they are loved for the sake of their ancestors. –Romans 11:28 (CEB)

Clay Vincent (Montana) titled his story “FREEDOM TO CHOOSE;” here is a portion of Clay’s story:

“. . . Many of our choices are major decisions about what road we will travel in life. . . .

“God gives us free will to choose our direction in life. We can choose to pray daily, to read the Bible, to attend church, or to extend kindness to a stranger. When we learn to put our faith in God and to allow God to guide our lives, we can have confidence in the choices we make.”

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY – Today I will seek God’s wisdom for every choice I make.

Prayer: Thank you, God, for the wisdom you give us each day. May we use it to make good choices and to give you the glory. Amen.
