Today’s scripture reading:

To walk safely in the woods at night we need a light so we don’t trip over tree roots or fall into holes. In this life, we walk through a dark forest of evil. But the Bible can be our light to show us the way ahead so we won’t stumble as we walk. It reveals the entangling roots of false values and philosophies. Study the Bible so you will be able to see your way clear enough to stay on the right path. (NLT)

Psalm 119:105-112 – Your word is a lamp for my feet and a light for my path. I’ve promised it once, and I’ll promise again: I will obey your wonderful laws. I have suffered much, O Lord; restore my life again, just as you promised. Lord, accept my grateful thanks and teach me your laws. My life constantly hangs in the balance, but I will not stop obeying your law. The wicked have set their traps for me along your path, but I will not turn from your commandments. Your decrees are my treasure; they are truly my heart’s delight. I am determined to keep your principles, even forever, to the very end.

I love those who love me, and those who seek me find me. –Proverbs 8:17 (NIV)

Doug Quinn (Oklahoma) titled his story “GUIDE MY JOURNEY;” here is a portion of Doug’s story:

“My family enjoys road trips. As I plan each one, my goal is to determine the best route and clearest directions. . . . My role is to ‘ask’ using my destination’s address. The GPS responds, ‘Your route has been calculated.’

“As I proceed, the GPS gives me turn-by-turn directions, finally concluding with, ‘You have arrived.’ . . . Noticing this, a family member once exclaimed, ‘This must be how God hears and responds to all those prayers!’

“Similarly, in my spiritual journey, I can ask God for guidance, discernment, and direction. God is able to hear my requests in the midst of millions of other prayers offered at the same time. Those times when I haven’t sought God, I have gone in the wrong direction. But when I pray first, God can guide me through each day’s challenges and temptations. . . .”

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY – Each day I can ask and listen for God’s guidance.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, hep us seek the paths of righteousness each day. Amen.
