Today’s scripture reading:
The person in whom God delights is one who follows God, trusts him, and tries to do his will. God watches over and makes firm every step that person takes. If you would like to have God direct your way, then seek His advice before you step out. (NLT)
Psalm 37:23-24 – The steps of the godly are directed by the Lord. He delights in every detail of their lives. Though they stumble, they will not fall, for the Lord holds them by the hand.
Psalm 37:25-29 – Once I was young, and now I am old. Yet I have never seen the godly forsaken, nor seen their children begging for bread. The godly always give generous loans to others, and their children are a blessing.
Turn from evil and do good, and you will live in the land forever. For the Lord loves justice, and he will never abandon the godly.
He will keep them safe forever, but the children of the wicked will perish. The godly will inherit the land and will live there forever.
Latonika Blackmon (Tennessee) titled her story “WALKING WITH ME;” here is a portion of Latonika’s story:
“My husband and I are enjoying watching our 11-month-old son, Adam, learn to walk. . . .
“For me, this experience is similar to the way our heavenly Father guides us. When something bad happens to me, I’ve often questioned, ‘Father, why did you let me fall?’ But every time, God reassures me. God is always there – stretching out a hand, waiting to lift me up to continue my journey. God never promised that we wouldn’t face trials or even stumble at times, but God did promise never to stop guiding us. With that promise, we can continue to live in confidence as God directs us.”
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY – Whenever I stumble, God will lift me up.
Prayer: Dear Father, thank you for directing our steps, lifting us up when we fall, and placing us back on the right path. Amen.
