May you find comfort, encouragement, guidance, hope, inspiration, love, and peace – May you also find answers to your question(s) through the Scriptures that address every situation you face, and help with your problems. Deb

Dear Lord, open our hearts and our minds to the power of Your Word, which as we read, we may know, understand, and obey Your Word for us today. We pray in Jesus’ name. Amen. (Author unknown)

Today’s scripture reading:

David expressed his feelings to God and then reaffirmed his faith. Prayer can release our tensions in times of emotional stress. Trusting God to be our rock, salvation, and fortress will change our entire outlook on life. No longer must we be held captive by resentment toward others when they hurt us. When we are resting in God’s strength, nothing can shake us. (NLT)

Psalm 62:1-2, 5-8 – I wait quietly before God, for my salvation comes from him. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress where I will never be shaken.

I wait quietly before God, for my hope is in him. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress where I will not be shaken. My salvation and my honor come from God alone. He is my refuge, a rock where no enemy can reach me.

O my people, trust in him at all times. Pour out your heart to him, for God is our refuge.

Quoted verse: Strive first for the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. –Matthew 6:33 (NRSV)

“Story” – Angelina Bassi (North Carolina, USA) titled her story “DILIGENTLY STRESSED;” here is a portion of Angelina’s story:

“I am currently preparing for auditions to become a student at a school for the arts. On top of preparing for those auditions, I have to remain diligent in my high school studies. Over the past few months I have developed anxiety, and I am very stressed most of the time.

“For some reason, I have no problem performing in front of a large audience, but I’m anxious about being judged by four people who will determine my future. . . .

“On a normal day I barely have time to take a breather and think about God. When I do, I can feel divine peace and love conquering my stress and anxiety. A good time for me to talk to God is when I’m driving to school in the morning. I turn off the radio so I have complete silence and thank God for all of my blessings. I don’t think about what I still have to do; I just think about how God is going to take care of me.

“God knows what we need and will guide us toward our goals. When we seek first the kingdom, God will take care of us as we face our problems.”

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY – I will take time to seek first the kingdom of God today.

Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for your everlasting love. Help us to stay faithful during stressful times. Help us to follow your loving guidance. Amen.
