May you find comfort, encouragement, guidance, hope, inspiration, love, and peace – https://helpfulinspirationalblog.wordpress.com/. May you also find answers to your question(s) through the Scriptures that address every situation you face, and help with your problems. Deb

Dear Lord, open our hearts and our minds to the power of Your Word, which as we read, we may know, understand, and obey Your Word for us today. We pray in Jesus’ name. Amen. (Author unknown)

Today’s scripture reading:

I know the Lord is always with me. I will not be shaken, for He is right beside me. – Psalm 16:8 (NLT)

Psalm 16:5-11 – Lord, you alone are my inheritance, my cup of blessing. You guard all that is mine. The land you have given me is a pleasant land. What a wonderful inheritance?

I will bless the Lord who guides me; even at night my heart instructs me. I know the Lord is always with me. I will not be shaken, for he is right beside me.

No wonder my heart is filled with joy, and my mouth shouts his praises! My body rests in safety. For you will not leave my soul among the dead or allow your godly one to rot in the grave.

You will show me the way of life, granting me the joy of your presence and the pleasures of living with you forever.

Quoted verse: I keep my eyes always on the Lord. With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken. Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will rest secure. –Psalm 16:8-9 (NIV)

“Story” – Lydia Masters (Texas, USA) titled her story “THE GIFT OF PEACE;” here is a portion of Lydia’s story:

“When I was seven years old, my life changed drastically and forever. Until then, I had been very close to my father. One night, suddenly and unexpectedly, he passed away – leaving me feeling lost and alone. After his death, things were very hard for my family, causing us to feel as if we were in a dark pit we could not get out of. As the years passed, I was constantly scared of the future and would choose fear over joy of any sort. When I realized that fear had become my closest friend, I knew I had a problem.   One night, as I felt completely broken and afraid, I decided to ask the Lord for guidance in reading the Bible. By the grace of God, I immediately opened up to Psalm 16.

“With tears of thankfulness, I gradually started to find peace in the comforting words encouraging us to rejoice because the God of the universe is at our right hand. . . .

“The peace of God can conquer anything. Simply reading the Bible can change a heart of fear to a heart of joy, full of the most profound spiritual peace.”

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY – God has given us the Bible to bring peace to our souls.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank you for loving us and giving us peace through the reading of your word. Help us never to grow weary in trusting you. Amen.
