Dear Lord, open our hearts and our minds to the power of Your Word, which as we read, we may know, understand, and obey Your Word for us today.  We pray in Jesus’ name.  Amen.  (Author unknown)

Today’s scripture reading:

[Your faith may be struggling or weak, accept His provisions, care for you.]

Even the strongest people get tired at times, but God’s power and strength never diminish.  He is never too tired or too busy to help and listen.  His strength is our source of strength.  When you feel all of life crushing you and you cannot go another step, remember that you can call upon God to renew your strength.

Trusting in the Lord is the patient expectation that God will fulfill his promises in his Word and strengthen us to rise above life’s difficulties.  Do you believe God loves you and wants the best for you?  Can you relax, confident that his purposes are right?  Are you convinced that he has the power to control all of life—and your life as well?  Though your faith may be struggling or weak, accept his provisions and care for you.  (NLT)

Isaiah 40:28-31 – Have you never heard?  Have you never understood?  The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of all the earth.  He never grows weak or weary.   No one can measure the depths of his understanding.

He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless.  Even youths will become weak and tired, and young men will fall in exhaustion.  But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength.  They will soar high on wings like eagles.  They will run and not grow weary.  They will walk and not faint.

Quoted verse: Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.  They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.  –Isaiah 40:31 (NIV)

“Story” – Wayne Greenawalt (Illinois, USA) titled his story “SOARING;” here is a portion of Wayne’s story:

“. . .  Living a Christian life is much like soaring.  We are not to live by our strength alone but are to be carried along by the uplifting power of the Holy Spirit.  At times we grow weary.  But God’s power never diminishes.  By God’s strength, we can be lifted to new spiritual heights to serve God in even greater ways.

“God has promised to be with us through life’s challenges.  We can catch the wind of the Spirit if we pull away from our hectic, crowded schedules to pray and meditate on God’s word, anticipating the renewing power that our Creator offers.  Then, empowered by the Holy Spirit, we can rise above life’s difficulties, strengthened to meet life’s demands.”

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY – The Spirit enables me to rise above life’s challenges.

Prayer: Dear God, we want to soar to new heights, so we wait for the refreshing, restorative power your Spirit brings.  Amen.

Prayer Focus: SOMEONE FEELING WEARY
